Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis

My husband Bill is in the late stages of pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease with no known cure. This is our story of our journey through the disease and how it has affected one family's life.

Bill continues to weaken a little more each week. He has a new companion to keep him company, an adorable, and onery, kitten. Meliah technically belongs to our granddaughters, but we have long term custody of her. She loves people, but she is still in that kitten stage of biting and clawing. If she doesn't lose one or more of her 9 lives before she matures, she will be a wonderful pet. One day we caught her climbing up the front of the fireplace, placing her claws on top of the stones as she climbed. When she reached the mantle, she was pretty proud of herself, but she didn't know how to get down.

This week-end Bill's almost 94 year-old brother and his son, daughter-in-law, and adult granddaughter are coming to visit. It will be tiring, but Bill is really looking forward to it.
